Admiring Panoramic Heaven Lake of Changbai Mountain

Heaven Lake (Tian Chi in Chinese) is a crater lake bordering China and North Korea. It lies within a caldera atop the volcanic Baekdu Mountain and the Changbai mountain range. Annually, thousands of visitors come here to admire its beauty on a clear day.

According to North Korean legend, upon the death of Kim Jong-Il, the ice on the lake cracked “so loud, it seemed to shake the Heavens and the Earth.”
