A study published in the Environmental Health Perspectives journal found people living closer to nature lives longer. Specifically, the study found places with more vegetation keep air cleaner. The green environment also encourages people to socialise and exercise.

Nonetheless important, contact with nature is soothing and restorative, which has significant effect on mental health. It eventually improves overall health.
