Laksa noodle soups are most Malaysians’ favourite meal. Have you thought of using Laksa paste to make biscuits? Instead of mostly sweet cookies, I thought of trying different flavours. Bake Laksa biscuits to celebrate the Diwali festival. Happy Diwali to all Indian friends!
This is an egg-less recipe. Simple and easy to follow instructions. You can find these ingredients in most Malaysian kitchens.
MALAYSIAN STYLE LAKSA BISCUITS
The Laksa biscuits are crunchy and leave a strong aroma in your mouth.

Ingredients
- 50g salted butter
- 20g brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Laksa paste (No particular brand; just your preference)
- 2 tbsp milk powder
- 60g cake flour
- 30g corn starch flour
- 10 pieces curry leaves, minced
Easy to follow instructions
01 Cream butter and sugar until combined.
02 Mix in Laksa paste and milk powder. Mix them well.
03 Sieve in the flour in a few additions. Don’t knead. Fold gently with a whisk.
04 Fold in the curry leaves. Bind all together into a smooth dough.
05 Set the dough. Let it chill in the fridge for an hour.
06 Remove the dough from the fridge. Preheat the oven at 170°C. Dust the table surface and the dough. Roll them into a cylinder shape. Cut to bite-size.
07 Put the biscuits 1cm apart. Bake for 15 minutes or until they are a brownish golden colour. Transfer the biscuits to a cooling rack. Let them cool. Put them in an airtight container.
