2021 is closing the curtain. We have been dealing with COVID-19 for nearly two years now. As the year is ending with uncertainties, it’s time to reflect. What are the important life lessons from the virus?
1. Equality
Regardless you are rich or poor, intelligent or uneducated, CEO or worker, the virus treats everyone equal. It doesn’t matter what religion, skin colour or nationality you are, all are equal in the “eyes” of COVID-19. Do you agree?
Discrimination is becoming contingent worldwide. The virus doesn’t discriminate, but why do we discriminate against other human beings? Some people think they are superior to others. And here, we create a fragile and divisive society. Why can’t we treat everyone fair and equal?
2. Adaptability
The virus has mutated into hundred forms. The virus mutates to become more contagious from Delta to the current Omicron (at the time of writing, scientists are investigating its impact). Not to mention there are other variants including Alpha, Beta and Gamma.
If the virus knows how to adapt to the changing environment, why do we humans want to return to the “Old Normal” lifestyle? The New Normal is here to stay. It is the future trend, like it or not. When employees have adapted to remote work or hybrid style, most bosses want them back in the offices. Indeed, not all jobs are suitable to work remotely. But, there are quite a large number of jobs that can excel virtually. Most bosses still believe employees perform better when working in the office.
3. Meaningful Values

Everyone rates the values of success differently. Some think a person is successful when he earns millions to billions. I had the same thought when I was very young. The COVID-19 near-death experience changed my life perspective. At that moment, a big paycheck is meaningless.
I don’t know why COVID-19 exists. However, I know what I want in life. The pandemic taught me the importance of a meaningful and purposeful career. Organik Livin lives my dream and hope for a better world.
The Sun will rise, but this time it’s so bright
And all I have left is my faith that we could change
One of the positive impacts of lockdown in 2020 has seen a significant drop in air pollution worldwide, including in India. The clear blue sky is gone back to history. Delhi shut schools and colleges because of severe pollution levels two weeks ago.
We are all in this together. If we act now, we can change the course for the better. We can create a massive positive impact from our actions.
