Make fresh Tomato sauce for your Spaghetti

Make spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce in 45 minutes. Prepare the ingredients in 15 minutes. This is a plant-based recipe. You may adjust the recipe to make Spaghetti Bolognese.

Ingredients ——————————

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1kg tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 230g uncooked spaghetti
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced fresh basil
  • Grated cheese

Instructions ——————————

  1. Heat oil over medium heat. Saute onion until tender, 4-6 mins.
  2. Stir in tomatoes and salt. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered until thickened, 20-25 mins. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain.
  4. Stir basil into sauce. Serve over spaghetti. Top with cheese.
