Christmas is just around the weekend. I have never baked digestive biscuits but my mum loves them very much. This year instead of giving her store-bought packets, I am going to bake a box for her. The taste is less tasty than factory-made. However, I can ensure less sugar and no salt in the ingredients.
Homebaked Digestive Biscuits
Bite-sized digestive biscuits with less sugar and no salt

Ingredients
- 160g Wholemeal Flour
- 70g Organic Rolled Oats
- 5 Tbsp fresh milk
- 72g unsalted butter
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 40g brown sugar
Simple instructions
01 Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
02 Put wholemeal flour in a large bowl. Cut in butter and let it melt at room temperature. Then mix them until they resemble a coarse meal.
03 Mix in oats, sugar and baking powder. Mix them well. It is best to use your hands to mix.
04 Add milk a spoon at a time into the dry ingredients. Mix them until a dough forms.
05 Shape the dough into small balls. Flatten the biscuits to 5mm thickness. It depends on the size you like. I decided on bite-size.
06 Bake for 12-15 minutes. Remove the biscuits from the oven. Let them cool on a wire rack.
07 The yield is 88.
